About the company
Our client product is sold to the pharmaceutical, academic, and sponsorship markets. The focus of this role will be on developing long-term relationships with new and existing clients on the West coast of the USA, therefore this position would not suit someone looking for quick sales. The role will be based in our offices in New York or from home on the West coast.
Job description
Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the Sales Executive will be responsible for selling subscriptions to academic institutes. They will need to have a proven track record in sales, outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to sell both on the phone and face to face, as well as the flexibility to respond quickly to changing priorities. Experience of selling to the academic sector would be an advantage but is not essential. The role will be mainly office based, developing sales leads over the phone, but will also involve occasional travel around the US to visit relevant clients and conferences.
Additional language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) would be highly, highly desirable
Who we are looking for
Self-motivated, determined and experienced sales professional to join its busy international sales team
3-6 years experience
Any additional language skills a bonus
Familiarity with using a sales database, particularly Salesforce
Experience in the publishing market, particularly in STM
